Single Day Classes

Rotating classes from each of the four themed areas are offered fall, spring, and summer terms. These classes are two-three hours long.

Multi-Day Professional Development Workshops

These classes are held over several days or months, and will be noted as such in the My Learning training descriptions and learner notes.

Crucial Conversations, 16 total hours

Crucial Conversations® is a 16-hour course that teaches skills for creating alignment and agreement by fostering open dialogue around high-stakes, emotional, or risky topics — at all levels of your organization.

By learning how to speak and be heard (and encouraging others to do the same), you’ll begin to surface the best ideas, make the highest-quality decisions, and then act on your decisions with unity and commitment.

*There is a $265 course fee for Crucial Conversations. This fee must be paid before the first class starts.

Since Jan. 2014, more than 420 CSU employees have participated in this workshop.

Emerging Leaders, 13 total hours

Do you know where your professional path is leading you? Are you interested in developing your leadership qualities for the future? Based on Kouzes’s and Posner’s bestselling book “The Leadership Challenge”, this two-day retreat will explore key concepts of leadership through thought provoking exercises that will assist you in determining your future leadership goals.

This 13-hour off campus retreat is broken up into two 6.5 hour sessions. This course will help participants to reflect on their personal values and leadership vision for the future.

Additional Training

Many departments at CSU offer training for faculty and staff on topics from career planning to course development to computer applications. Several of these departments are on My Learning today. Contact us if you need help finding the right course or department.

NOTE: Later in the fall you will be able to register for classes from HR and Business Financial Services through My Learning as well.

Individual Professional Development Transcripts

The old registration system that was used before My Learning is no longer available. Information regarding completion of trainings that count towards the Supervisor Development Program Certification has been transferred to My Learning. These training credits will be reflected under “Completed” on your My Learning Dashboard. This dashboard will be your Professional Development Transcript for trainings completed through any department offering trainings on the My Learning platform.
